The San Jose Sharks defeated the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday, 5-3. San Jose had just come off a five-game road trip that saw the club go 1-3-1, and now head to the road for this one game against Los Angeles on Monday. The Sharks are 4-19-2 away from San Jose.

San Jose came out of a wild second period with a 3-2 lead, then added two more goals in the third to secure the victory. It was a victorious return for Logan Couture, who missed the first 45 games of the season but delivered an assist. Tomas Hertl and Fabian Zetterlund each had a goal and an assist. The five goals scored were the most since a 6-5 overtime victory over Detroit back on December 7 and the Sharks are last in goals per game (2.04).

Mackenzie Blackwood stopped 31 shots to earn the victory. San Jose has really struggled to keep opponents out of their net, last in goals-against average (3.96). Blackwood (6-17-3, 3.69, .894) and Kaapo Kahkonen (5-13-1, 3.61, .899) have received very little defensive support this season.
