San Diego at San Francisco – 12/31/22 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The San Diego Toreros will head up to the Bay and face the San Francisco Dons this weekend from the Memorial Gymnasium on WCC. The San Diego/San Francisco series dates back to 1980, and USF holds a 47-41 series lead after winning five matchups in a row.

San Diego dropped to 7-8 after losing to St. Mary’s in Moraga. The Toreros were outmatched early, and never recovered after the break, falling to the Gaels by 27 points. San Diego is scoring 77.9 points per game, while allowing 77.2 ppg, and shooting 44.7% from the floor.

San Diego has been without four-year starter Jase Townsend, and his absence was glaring in the WCC opener versus St. Mary’s. Former Oregon swingman Eric Williams will look to bounce back from his worst outing of the season. Williams posted back-to-back double-doubles against ASU and Riverside, and he’s leading USD in scoring (15.2) and rebounding (10.5). Fifth-year senior Marcellus Earlington (14.7 ppg, 6.2 rpg) also had a tough time with the Gaels, but he has scored 21 or more in three straight Golden state matchups over the past two weeks. Weber State transfer Sigu Sisoho Jawara (12.8 ppg) combined for 54 points in the last two non-conference games.
