Louisville at Kentucky – 12/31/22 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Louisville Cardinals will take the two-hour trip to Lexington and take on the Kentucky Wildcats this weekend from the Rupp Arena on CBS. These two schools have battled in the Bluegrass in every season since 1983. Kentucky holds the all-time series lead 37-17, but they did lose to Louisville by three last season.

Louisville dropped to 2-11 after losing to N.C. State in Raleigh. The Cardinals abysmal season continued in Carolina, as they were worn down by the Wolf Pack and dealt a 12-point loss. Louisville is scoring 61.4 points per game, while allowing 73.5 ppg, and shooting 40.1% from the floor.

Louisville is in a transition stage as a program, but it’s hard to remember the last time they’ve looked like this. After losing their first three games by a single point, the Cardinals come into Lexington beyond desperate for some direction. El Ellis has been the lone bright spot offensively, leading the Cards in scoring (17.1) and assists (4.3). Tennessee transfer leads the team in rebounding (6.3), while scoring 8.1 ppg.
