Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Dallas Mavericks Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-29-2022

Oklahoma City Thunder (2-3) vs. Dallas Mavericks (2-2)

The 2022-23 NBA betting action goes on Saturday, October 29, with seven games on the schedule including the Western Conference showdown between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Dallas Mavericks.

The Thunder head to American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, as 9-point underdogs with a total of 216.5 points. The Mavericks went 3-1 SU against the Thunder last regular season, but Dallas covered the spread only once.

The Oklahoma City Thunder (2-3; 4-1 ATS) are searching for their third consecutive victory. They’ve stunned the Clippers in their last two showings, outlasting LA 108-94 as 5.5-point home dogs and 118-110 as 7-point home dogs. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander dropped 33 points on the Clippers last Tuesday and two days later, he had 24 points and six assists.

The Thunder relied on their defense to upset the odds against the Clippers. They forced 19 turnovers on Tuesday and 20 on Thursday while turning the ball over just 18 times over those two games.

“We just try to create like, an extremely ruthless consistency with our approach and just trust that if we do that, the guys will improve, the players will grow as they gain experience, things will slow down, their bodies will g et stronger,” OKC head coach Mark Daigneault said. “And we just trust in that deal.”

The Thunder are scoring just 109.5 points per 100 possessions (25th in the NBA). They are shooting 42.7% from the field (27th) and 30.7% from beyond the 3-point line (28th). At least, the Thunder are posting 14.0 offensive rebounds per 100 possessions, enough for the fourth-most in the league. OKC ranks ninth in defensive efficiency (109.5 points per 100 possessions) and 22nd in opposing field goal percentage (47.7%).
