North Carolina Sports Bettors Can Sign Up For Online Accounts

Sports bettors in North Carolina can officially register for accounts with North Carolina betting apps 10 days ahead of the official online wagering launch date.

As of noon on Friday, the state lottery commission is permitting eight North Carolina betting apps to accept registrations and deposits. This means bettors can take advantage of the North Carolina sports betting promotions available from the operators entering the state's betting market. The eight operators allowed to accept registrations and deposits as of Friday afternoon are:

  • Bet365 (North Carolina)
  • BetMGM (North Carolina)
  • Caesars Sportsbook (North Carolina)
  • DraftKings (North Carolina)
  • ESPN BET (North Carolina)
  • Fanatics Sportsbook (North Carolina)
  • FanDuel (North Carolina)
  • Underdog Sports (North Carolina)

While bettors can begin signing up for the apps, online sports betting in North Carolina won't go live until March 11 at noon. No bets will be accepted in the state until that time.

The projected online betting launch comes one day before the ACC men's basketball tournament tips off and about a week before the start of March Madness. Four teams in the ACC tournament are from North Carolina, including tournament favorites North Carolina and Duke. Wake Forest and NC State are also in the field, with Wake Forest the most likely of those latter two to make the NCAA Tournament.
