New York Knicks vs. Sacramento Kings Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 3-9-2023

New York Knicks (39-28) vs. Sacramento Kings (38-26)

The 2022-23 NBA season goes on Thursday, March 9, with the New York Knicks facing off against the Sacramento Kings in the cross-conference showdown at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California.

New York and Sacramento wrap up their two-game regular-season set, and the Knicks aim for their fifth straight victory over the Kings. Back in December, the Knicks beat the Kings 112-99 as 2.5-point home favorites with a total of 226.0 points.

The New York Knicks (39-28; 38-27-2 ATS) are coming off Tuesday’s 112-105 defeat to the Charlotte Hornets. The Knicks put an end to a nine-game winning streak, failing to satisfy the odds as huge 10-point home favorites.

New York shot just 42.7% from the field against Charlotte. The Knicks went 11-for-40 from beyond the arc and handed out only 18 assists. RJ Barrett led the Knicks with 27 points, six rebounds, and four assists, while Julius Randle had 16 points and eight boards, making just five of his 17 attempts from the field.

“We weren’t great in defensive transition and we didn’t fly around like we normally do,” Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau said

Over their last ten outings, the Knicks were scoring a thumping 122.4 points per game while shooting 50.4% from the field and 38.9% from downtown. New York ranks fifth in the league in adjusted offensive efficiency (117.2 points per 100 possessions) and 15th in adjusted defensive efficiency (114.2). The Knicks are fifth in the Eastern Conference, three and a half games ahead of the No. 7 seed.
