New York Bar Owner Loses His Big Bet On Carl Yuan

The first thing Larry Shea wants people to know is his $6,575 loss on Carl Yuan at the Mexico Open is just fine.

“Like I tell the college students: Never make a bet that will impact your real life,” said Shea, who co-owns Tom & Marty's with his brother, a college bar in Binghamton, New York. “I'm not saying $6,500 is chump change, but I want to make clear I’m not jeopardizing my financial situation. It's a lot of money, but it's not going to jam me up.”
