The New Jersey Devils face the Carolina Hurricanes with both teams looking to improve on strong seasons. The Devils have a 25-21-3 record but have only won four of their last 10 games. The Hurricanes have a 29-16-5 record and with seven wins in their last 10 games, they have leaped into second place in the Metropolitan Division. Both teams look to improve in their divisions and the Eastern Conference and the upcoming game should be a great one as a result.

The Devils are having a strong season with their offense leading the way, scoring 3.45 goals per game. Jesper Bratt and Jack Hughes have scored 35 goals and 75 assists to lead the top line but the rest of the offense has stepped up as well. Tyler Toffoli, Nico Hischier, and Erik Haula have combined for 46 goals and 45 assists while defensemen Luke Hughes and John Marino have added 12 goals and 30 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has let them down, allowing 3.57 goals per game including 14 goals in their last three games. Kevin Bahl and Colin Miller have combined for 3.0 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net with ease.
