Indiana heads to Detroit to take on a Pistons team that's made real strides over their last 10 games, winning 5 outright. However, I see a tough matchup for Cade Cunningham on the assists end. The Pacers are allowing the 6th-fewest assists over the last 10 games and the 7th-fewest three-pointers made. For Cade, three-point shots make up 28% of his assists in March and sharpshooter Simone Fontecchio is currently questionable for tonight.
Cunningham has been on an assists tear of late, going over this number in 6 of the last 7 and yet we see this 7.5 number being floated. That sends warning bells to me. In the 3 games against Indiana this season, he's averaging 6.7 assists in 35 minutes per game. Detroit will be without Isaiah Stewart as well tonight and I believe Cade could go on a scoring spree but as a result won’t get it done in the assists column.
