One-half of this week's Friday night college football doubleheader is an American Athletic Conference matchup between the Navy Midshipmen and the SMU Mustangs.
Navy (3-2 against the spread, 2-3 Over/Under) enters this game having won each of its last two conference matchups. Last week, the Midshipmen routed a Tulsa team that had held its own against quality competition in each of its prior two games. Defense is the backbone of this Navy team.
Meanwhile, SMU (1-4 ATS, 1-4 O/U) will look to end a three-game losing skid. That said, all three of the Mustangs' losses came against solid competition in the form of Maryland, TCU, and UCF, respectively. SMU's pass-happy offense will look to bounce back after being shut down in the second half of last week's game.
