Texas Rangers vs Tampa Bay Rays: NRFI (-130)
To start off with our NRFI selection on Sunday’s card, I’m going to back both pitchers in this Rangers vs Rays matchup. Martin Perez gets the ball for Texas in this one, and that’s a good sign for the Rangers. The right-hander has pitched to a 3.97 ERA this season, but has allowed 2 earned runs or less in 7 of his 10 outings. He should see more success against Tampa Bay, a lineup that has limited at-bats against Perez to this point. On the other side, the Rays are countering with Shane McClanahan, who is currently the AL Cy Young favorite, and for good reason. With a 2.02 ERA and just 14 ER allowed over his last 10 starts, the southpaw should dominate once again on Sunday. I’d expect a quick first inning in this one.
