Miami – FL vs. Clemson Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 2-4-2023

Two top-25 teams are taking each other on, with the #20 Clemson Tigers (18-5, 12-11-0 ATS, 10-2 ACC) hosting the #23 Miami Hurricanes (17-5, 13-9 ATS, 8-4 ACC) in a must-see match. This is the only regular-season meeting between the schools, although the ACC tournament and NCAA tournament could provide a rematch. Miami has won the last two matchups against Clemson. Tipoff for this game is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. EST in Clemson's Littlejohn Coliseum.

Miami ended the 2022 calendar year 13-1, and on a nine-game winning streak. Since the calendar flipped, they have not won consecutive games, alternating wins and losses in their past eight.

The last time they were on the court they defeated Virginia Tech 92-83, covering the spread as 3.5-point favorites. They outscored the Hokies 16-7 over the final 4:16 of the game to secure the victory. Leading the team in both points and rebounds, sophomore forward Norchad Omier was great in that game. He scored 21 on 75% shooting while grabbing eight boards.

Miami may only be third in the ACC scoring 78.3 points per game, but they have one of the top offenses in the nation. Along with their scoring average ranking 40th in the country, their 48.3% shooting ranks 22nd. They also knock down 35.9% of their threes, which is only sixth in the ACC but 87th in the nation. The Hurricanes hit 76.3% of their free throws which is third in the ACC and 18th nationally.

On defense, Miami is in the middle of the pack. They give up 70.1 points per game, eighth in the conference. Opponents hit 32.3% of their threes against them, sixth in the ACC, and shoot 43.4% from the floor, seventh in the conference. The Hurricanes average 7.5 steals a night, the third-most among ACC teams.

Miami is ranked 37th by KenPom this season. Bracketology has them slotted as a six-seed right now with an at-large bid. Getting a road win over a ranked team would greatly boost their resume. They've been alright on the road with a 4-4 record. The Hurricanes trail Clemson by two games in the conference standings.
