Memphis at Utah State – 12/27/22 College Football Picks and Prediction

The Memphis Tigers and Utah State Aggies face off on Tuesday in a college football showdown in the First Responder Bowl at the Gerald. J. Ford Stadium. This is the first meeting played between the two teams this season. 

Memphis comes into this game with a 6-6 record overall and they have gone 6-6 against the spread. Memphis has won two of the last three games, but the loss was in the last game. Against SMU they were competitive but ended up losing 34-31. Quarterback Seth Henigan completed 27 of his 44 passes for 287 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. On the season Henigan has thrown for 3,287 yards, 19 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Memphis is averaging 35.1 points while their defense is giving up 27.3 points per game. 

On the other side of this matchup is Utah State who sits with a 6-6 record and they have gone 4-8 against the spread. In the last game against San Jose State, the offense scored 35 points and that was enough to win by four points. Quarterback Cooper Legas completed 23 of his 35 passes for 244 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Running back Calvin Tyler Jr also had a big game finishing with 30 carries for 125 yards and three touchdowns. Utah State is averaging 23.2 points while their defense is giving up 30.6 points per game.
