Conference play is the theme of Week 7 of the 2022 NCAA college football season. While there are a ton of rivalry games to keep an eye on, one that stands out is a Big Ten collision between the Maryland Terrapins and Indiana Hoosiers.

The two rivals have struggled to pick up wins lately, with Maryland dropping two of its last three games while Indiana has suffered three straight losses. Which Big Ten school will come out on top this weekend?

Maryland vs Indiana Prediction and Best Bet

Before last year's meeting, Indiana had won three straight games against Maryland. However, the Terrapins turned things around last October, walking out with a 38-35 victory against the Hoosiers. I fully expect the positive trend to continue in Maryland's favor.

The Hoosiers have really struggled during their losing streak, losing each of their last three games by at least two possessions. Even though the Terrapins have picked up a pair of losses in their last three outings, those losses came against two solid opponents – then-No. 4 Michigan and Purdue – and both defeats came by only one possession.

Another reason to like Maryland is that they played well against Michigan on the road, whereas Indiana lost to the Wolverines by 21 points in their own stadium. I also fully expect Terrapins QB Taulia Tagovailoa to take advantage of the Hoosier's defense, which allows 297.8 passing yards per game (No. 119).

While I expect Maryland to win here, I'm not exactly confident in its ability to cover the 11.5-point spread. Two of the Terrapins' three all-time victories over the Hoosiers came by just three points and I expect the latter to step things up in a rivalry game.

Having said that, give me Indiana at +11.5, as well the total hitting over 62.5 ponts.
