Los Angeles Lakers vs. Golden State Warriors Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 5-2-2023

The Golden State Warriors play host to the LA Lakers in a Western Conference semifinal showdown on Tuesday night from the Chase Center. This could end up being the most memorable and highly-anticipated series on the season, especially given the history between some this one's superstars. They come into this on with matching records on the season, though on the season, the Lakers took three of four. Even as the late game, fans will not want to miss the opener, which will serve to set the tone for this series.

After spending the first half of the season with concerns surrounding if this group would even make the playoffs, the Lakers suddenly find themselves looking like a potential NBA favorite. Still sitting as the road team for the second-straight series, Los Angeles showed in the opener that it isn't an issue at all for them to start things on the road. Adding in some solid success against the Warriors this season and the Lakers will be liking their chances in this matchup. On the season, LA had a losing road record but with their superstars rounding into form, this roster is built perfectly for a matchup like the one on Tuesday.

Injuries were a concern for much of the season for this group but it shouldn't come as a surprise to see them finding better play as they have been able to get healthier. Mo Bamba (ankle) is questionable, though shouldn't be a crucial absence either way. Both Lebron James (foot) and Anthony Davis (foot) also appear on the injury report, though there remains little doubt that both will be on the court for this one.

The Lakers have seemed to finally hit their stride on both sides of the ball and even as the Warriors present a unique opportunity, Los Angeles has plenty of areas to go for success. James and Davis remain one of the most talented and physical duos in the league, though it has been the emergence of some of their young talents that could be the difference. Austin Reaves (16.5 ppg) presents a difficult matchup on both ends and not to be forgotten is Dennis Schroder, who has played a huge role in playoff wins over the last few years. Expect the offensive glass to be an area where the Lakers will have an advantage and if Davis can continue to be the best frontcourt player in the playoffs, another road win will seem to be coming their way.
