Former coach Diego Cocca was fired in the wake of the 3-0 loss to the United States in the semifinals of the CONCACAF Nations League but that opening result should have gone some way to rebuilding confidence, especially with top contenders the USMNT and Canad a having both dropped points already. Haiti scored right at the other end of its opening game, with a goal in the seventh minute of added time leading to a 2-1 win over Qatar.
