MLB value plays for Thursday, May 25

Greg Peterson posts his daily handicapped MLB lines for every game every day. Based on his lines vs. the actual lines, here is where Peterson sees value on today's menu. Peterson also does a daily podcast, The Baseball Betting Show, on which he breaks down every game every day.

Blue Jays vs. Rays (-140). Greg’s Line: Rays -157.

The Rays lead the league in both batting average and home runs while their nearly six runs per game are second only to the Texas Rangers. They face a struggling Alek Manoah, who has a 5.15 ERA with 5.9 walks to just 7.2 strikeouts per nine innings, ballooning his FIP to 6.26. Rays starter Zach Eflin has allowed three runs or fewer in five starts with a 2.40 home ERA, and the Rays are 7-1 overall in his starts.

Athletics vs. Mariners Total 7.5. Greg’s Total 8.3.

The Athletics road ERA is 7.99 with the next-worst road ERA being 5.63. The Mariners have generated at least five runs in four of their last five games against Oakland and face starter JP Sears, who has a 6.75 road ERA with 2.4 home runs per nine innings in five road starts this season.
