North Carolina failed to cover as a 7.5-point favorite but still snuck by Virginia 31-28 Saturday. The win kept UNC undefeated in ACC play. At UVA, the high-octane Tar Heels — No. 17 in the College Football Playoff rankings (Nov. 1) — were held to their lowest single-game yardage total since Sept. 24. UNC, the leading offense in the ACC at 496.8 yards per game, was held to 455 total yards.

The Demon Deacons — tabbed 21st in the CFP rankings — averaged 41.4 points per game over their first 7 contests. However, including a 30-21 loss at current-No. 16 NC State Saturday (as a 3-point favorite), Wake Forest has tallied just 42 points over the last 2 weeks combined. WFU outgained the Wolfpack, 414 yards to 325, but was undone by a minus-3 margin in turnovers.
