American Athletic Conference betting action takes college basketball bettors to San Antonio, TX Saturday afternoon where the UTSA Roadrunners (8-15, 9-13 ATS) will attempt to defend their home court against the visiting East Carolina Pirates (11-12, 9-12-1 ATS). Mike Schwartz’s kids enter this tilt losers of two straight to conference heavyweights South Florida and Charlotte to fall to 4-6 SU and 4-5-1 ATS in conference play. The Roadrunners dropped a third straight last time out on the road at Wichita State in a game that was over 20 minutes into it. Take this one in live from the UTSA Convocation Center on ESPNU at 4 p.m. ET!

ECU gave the 49ers all they could ask for through a half of play only trailing 26-24, but things went sideways quickly over the game’s final 20 minutes. The end result was another lopsided defeat that went against the Pirates moving the team two games under the breakeven point in conference play. Per usual, R.J. Felton led the offensive charge with a game-high 20 points on 8-of-18 shooting with the sharpshooter only able to connect on 2-of-8 shots from beyond the arc.

As bad it’s been offensively for ECU to this point with the Pirates averaging 68.8 points per game (#301) and shooting 41.4 percent from the field (#322), it’s been even worse in AAC play with the Torvik conference-only efficiency metrics ranking East Carolina dead last in AdjO in averaging 0.993 points per possession. That paired with the league’s No. 2 ranked AdjD that only allows 0.987 points per possession has led to ECU b eing a huge moneymaker for under bettors with it cashing at a 15-7 clip overall and 9-1 clip in conference play.
