The Avalanche are having a great season with their offense leading the way, scoring 3.73 goals per game. Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen have scored 60 goals and 92 assists to lead the top line but the rest of the offense has stepped up as well. Jonathan Drouin, Ross Colton, and Logan O'Connor have combined for 33 goals and 48 assists while defensemen Cale Makar and Devon Toews have added 21 goals and 68 assists from the point to put the offense over the top.

The offense has been great but the defense has been awful, allowing 3.15 goals per game including 10 goals in their last two games. Makar and Toews have combined for 5.8 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net with ease. In addition, goaltender Alexandar Georgiev has struggled with a .897 save percentage and a 2.91 goals-against average on 1189 shots with -7.6 goals saved above average.
