Brooklyn snapped a two-game slide as they took care of business against the Clippers Wednesday night at home. The Nets evened their record at 4-4 on the season and entered Friday tied for third in the Atlantic Division, 2.5 games behind the 76ers for the top spot. Against the Clippers, Brooklyn trailed by eight after the opening quarter and by three at the half before regrouping. Trailing by two late in the third quarter, the Nets reeled off six unanswered points spanning the third and fourth quarters to take a 75-71 lead. Brooklyn didn’t let the Clippers closer than two the rest of the way to earn the victory. The Nets shot 40.2% from the field, including 15 of 41 from three-point range, and limited the Clippers to 39.6% shooting in the contest. Lonnie Walker IV led Brooklyn with 21 points in the victory off the bench.

The Nets enter this game 11th in the league in scoring offense as they average 115.4 points per game on the year. Thomas (ankle) is expected to be out until late November, taking the team’s leading scorer out of the mix. Claxton (ankle) is out indefinitely while Simmons (hip) missed the game against the Clippers and is questionable for this game. Watch for any new information regarding his status leading to tip-off.
