The Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills provide the early afternoon entertainment on Thanksgiving Day, but it’s not the game we might have expected a month ago. If someone had told you then that one of these teams would be bringing a 3-game winning streak into the Turkey Day game, while the other had lost 2 of its last 3 and failed to cover in any of those games, most people would have expected the Bills to be the team in better form. Not so fast! The Bills remain the Super Bowl favorites but they are in 3rd place in the AFC East after losses to the Jets and Vikings and a 31-23 win over the Browns that still wasn’t enough to see them covering the spread. That game was played at Ford Field in Detroit due to heavy snow in Buffalo, and this one will be too!
Traditional Thanksgiving hosts the Lions are not usually seeking a 4th straight win when they are thrust into the national spotlight in late November, but that’s the case this time after wins over the Packers, Bears and Giants.
