Atlanta Hawks (18-24) vs. Sacramento Kings (23-18)

The 2023-24 NBA season continues Monday, January 22, with the Atlanta Hawks taking on the Sacramento Kings in the interconference showdown at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California, with the tip-off at 10:00 PM ET.

Atlanta and Sacramento close down their two-game regular-season set. Back in December, the Kings beat the Hawks 117-110 as 1-point road favorites to snap a four-game skid in this series.

The Atlanta Hawks (18-24; 11-31 ATS) put an end to their three-game winning streak last Saturday. After a couple of home wins over the San Antonio Spurs 109-99 and the Orlando Magic 106-104 and a 109-108 road victory at the Miami Heat, the Hawks were trounced by the Cleveland Cavaliers 116-95 as 2.5-point home underdogs.

The Cavs dominated the Hawks from start to finish, leading by as many as 27 points. The Hawks made just 39.8% of their field goals (11-for-38 from deep). Dejounte Murray led the way for Atlanta with 24 points, nine rebounds, and five assists, going 10-for-19 from the field, while Trae Young had just 15 points and five assists in 28 minutes on the floor.

The Hawks are tenth in the Eastern Conference, just half a game ahead of the No. 11 Brooklyn Nets. Atlanta scores 117.6 points per 100 possessions (12th in the NBA) on 46.4% shooting from the field (23rd) while surrendering a whopping 120.0 points in return (27th) on 50.0% shooting from the field (29th).

Trae Young exited the Cavaliers game after being elbowed in the face, and he’s questionable for Monday’s clash in Sacramento. De’Andre Hunter (knee) and Mouhamed Gueye (back) are both out.
