The Arizona State Sun Devils are on the road as they travel to take on the Utah Utes Saturday night. Arizona State was on the road against Colorado Thursday night in their previous contest, falling 82-70, though they covered the line as a 15.5-point underdog. Utah was at home Thursday night as they hosted #8 Arizona in their previous contest, battling to the end before falling 105-99 in triple overtime, failing to cover the line as a 4.5-point underdog. In the all-time series between the teams, the Utes own a 35-27 advantage but the Sun Devils have won the last four meetings. That includes an 82-70 home win in the first meeting this season on January 4.

Arizona State saw their free fall continue as they lost their fifth straight and their seventh in the last eight games with a road loss to Colorado. The Sun Devils dropped to 11-12 overall and stand ninth in the Pac-12 with a 5-7 mark in conference play. Against Colorado, Arizona State gave up the first 12 points of the game and never recovered. The Sun Devils were down 21-3 just over six minutes into the game, leaving an uphill climb the rest of the way. Arizona State got within four with 2:48 to play in the first half but ended up down nine at the half. The Sun Devils trailed by as many as 17 in the second half and couldn’t get closer than five as they went down in defeat. Arizona State shot 44.3% from the field, including seven of 22 from three-point range, and lost the rebounding battle 37-24 in the game. Frankie Collins led the Sun Devils with 18 points in the loss.

The Sun Devils put up an average of 69 points per contest this season, putting them 299th in the nation in scoring offense.
