LSU was drubbed 88-68 on the road by #6 Tennessee in their previous contest Wednesday night, failing to cover the line as a 13.5-point underdog. In the all-time series between the teams, Alabama owns an 87-53 advantage and have won the last three meetings. That includes a 109-88 home win in the first matchup this season on January 27.

Alabama had won four straight and 10 of their previous 11 games only to get upended on the road by #12 Auburn Wednesday night in their previous contest. The Crimson Tide fell to 16-7 overall and stood tied for the top spot in the SEC with Auburn and South Carolina as all three teams are 8-2 in conference play. Against Auburn, Alabama led by four early, trailed by 13, rallied to tie the game and then gave up an 18-4 run to end the first half down 55-41. The Crimson Tide couldn’t get closer than 11 the rest of the way as they took the loss. Alabama shot 37.3% from the field, including nine of 26 from three-point range, and lost the rebounding battle 42-35. The Crimson Tide went 28 of 35 at the free throw line but sent the Tigers to the line 50 times, of which Auburn cashed 40. Mark Sears led Alabama with 25 points and nine rebounds in the loss.

For the year, Alabama is averaging 89.5 points per game this season, putting them 3rd in the nation in scoring offense.
