What changes were made to concussion protocol following Tua Tagovailoa investigation

The NFL and NFLPA wrapped up their investigation into the issues surrounding the application of the concussion protocol following Tua Tagoavailoa's head injury. There's a lot to unpack, but it reads like the NFL thinks the process was followed fine, but there are issues with the process.

Notably, the NFL is adding the term “ataxia” to what it describes as “the mandatory 'no-go' symptoms.” It is defined as “abnormality of balance/stability, motor coordination or dysfunctional speech caused by a neurological issue.” If a player is diagnosed with ataxia, he will be prohibited from returning to the game and will enter the formal concussion follow-up protocol.

The NFL's chief medical officer, Allen Sills told the media that if ataxia had been a part of the protocols two weeks ago, Tua would not have been allowed to return to the Dolphins-Bills game and also would not have been able to clear the protocol in time for Thursday's Dolphins-Bengals game.

Here is the full statement from the NFL and NFLPA following the investigation.
