The Mets and Brewers didn't waste any time getting their midweek series started. After hosting the other New York team — the Yankees — the Brewers welcomed in a Max Scherzer-led Mets team. Milwaukee opened up with an ace of their own in Corbin Burnes. Every game is essentially a must-win for the Brewers at this point, as they're fighting for one of the final NL wildcard spots. New York Mets ML (-115) over Milwaukee Brewers
The Brewers originally had Corbin Burnes scheduled to start this game. However, their injury situation forced them to bump him up in the rotation. It's also why the Mets have a great chance to maintain their lead over the Braves in the division. Milwaukee has starters Freddy Peralta and Eric Lauer both on the injured list. With no other usual starter with sufficient rest, they're forced to start lefty Aaron Ashby. He too was just on the injured list and was pushed out of the rotation when Peralta got healthy. The 2nd-year starter hasn’t pitched in over a month and still has a terrible 2-10 record. He also already lost to the Mets earlier this season in a start that lasted just 4.1 innings.
