Colorado Rockies vs. New York Mets Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 8-25-2022

After getting swept by the New York Yankees, the 10-game road trip for the New York Mets finally comes to an end with the team returning to Citi Field to take on the Colorado Rockies on Thursday. The Rockies split even in a two-game meeting with the Texas Rangers, including a 16-4 blowout loss in the finale. They’ll try to get a game back in the win column with Ryan Feltner starting at pitcher against Mets righty Jacob deGrom.

It’s usually offense-or-bust for the Rockies. Well, they eventually got their offense going on Thursday in a game where they scored seven runs in the later innings.

And it still wasn’t enough for them to come away with the victory.

They once again showed why they have the worst run-scoring defense in the league by melting down for a 16-run allowance in their home building. If they couldn’t stop the Texas Rangers at the plate at Coors Field, they’re going to be in for an even tougher time against the Mets at Citi Field.

The Mets are averaging 8.75 hits and 4.75 runs per game this season. So they clearly have the firepower to dole out a little déjà vu for the Rockies’ previous game against the Rangers. The offensive magic seems to only work for the Rockies when they’re on the road, and they’re goin g to be putting their trust in second-year big league pitcher Ryan Feltner to lead the way in this game. He’s throwing a 5.88 ERA with a 2-4 record on the season, which doesn’t bode well against a tough Mets offense.
