Two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference rivals meet on Friday when the Canisius Golden Griffins (5-12, 3-5 MAAC) pay a visit to Fairfield, Connecticut and Leo D. Mahoney Arena to play the Fairfield Stags (7-10, 3-4 MAAC). Canisius defeated the Siena Saints 66-62 last Sunday. The Golden Griffins have won three of their last four. Fairfield snapped a three-game losing skid with a 56-52 victory over the St. Peter’s Peacocks last Saturday. Canisius will play without Frank Mitchell while Jordan Henderson is questionable and Xzavier Long is probable. Caleb Fields is questionable for Fairfield, while Brycen Goodine is out.
The Canisius Golden Griffins are allowing an average of 73.3 points per game, while opponents are averaging 46.5% shooting overall and 37.9% shooting from three-point land, which are 288th, 335th and 351st respectively.
