It also may mean you're looking to recuperate some funds after spending for gifts, or looking to stock up for some New Year's Eve festivities. Whatever the case, we've already taken a look at the matchups for the first day back on the ice, and have a mega parlay to go along with it.'< /span>

Before we dive in, be sure to check out our NHL picks for Tuesday's action.

Boston Bruins -1.5 (+150) over Ottawa Senators

It'd be difficult for a fan of any team to argue that the Bruins have been the best team in the NHL through these first 2 and half months. They're 27-4-2, with the next-best record being the Carolina Hurricanes with 5 less wins at 22-6-6. The New Jersey Devils also have 22 wins, which is who the Bruins just beat in their most recent game. While they've been absolutely incredible at home with an unheard-of 18-0-2 record at TD Garden this season, Boston's win over the Devils came on the road.'

That's why it's very surprising to be getting such a great plus-money price for this play. They'll be up in Canada, but it's not as if Ottawa has been a feared opponent this season. The Senators are in last place of the Atlantic Division, which is where the Bruins reign supreme. Boston has already handled the Sens once this season, scoring 7 goals in the process. That was arguably the Bruins' worst goaltending game allowing 5 goals themselves, but that has been few and far between. They've allowed just 2.18 goals per game so far this season, by far the best mark in the league. Given they are also scoring the 2nd-most goals per game, there's simply no reason this game should be priced so favorably.'
