The Boston Bruins hit the road on Monday night and the wins kept coming as they defeated the Lighting 5-3 in Tampa Bay. The win was the Bruins' seventh-straight and improved the team to 17-2 on the season. In the win, Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron got his 1000th career point to become just the 94th player in NHL history to reach that milestone. Fittingly, the point was an assist and set up his long-time linemate Brad Marchand to extend the Bruins lead to 4-1 in the second period. The Bruins other goals were scored by David Krejci, Nick Foligno, Charlie Coyle and David Pastrnak. Goalie Linus Ullmark had 32 saves in the win.

“The players love him,” Boston coach Jim Montgomery said. “I joked around the other day, I'm like, if he had any kind of cheat in his game he might have 1,200 points already, or 1,300. He's just so dedicated to playing the game the right way and helping the team have succ ess.”

The Bruins continue to pace the NHL in a number of categories including goals per game, assists, points and power play goals. In addition, they are tops in goals against per game, save percentage and are second in penalty kill percentage. The Bruins will have the choice of either going back with Ullmark against the Panthers or go with recently returned Jeremy Swayman. Swayman has only played in five of their 19 games thus far and is 3-1 on the season as Ullmark has grabbed a firm grasp on the #1 goalie mantle.
