Here's a breakdown of why I like each bet.
1. LeBron James – Points + Rebounds: Over 34.5 (-120)
LeBron James' best days might be behind him, but he's still a really good offensive contributor, averaging 26.0 points ov er his last five games. He's also averaging 9.6 rebounds over that stretch while finishing each of those outings with no fewer than nine boards. James has now hit the over on this prop in three of his last five games with two of those instances occurring at crypto.com Arena. With the Lakers needing him to score to keep their postseason hopes alive and the fact that he's already averaging 10.5 RPG this series, I don't see James having an issue hitting the over once again.
2. Michael Porter Jr. – Threes Made: Over 2.5 (-113)
Michael Porter Jr.'s three-point shooting took a huge jump this year. He averaged 3.0 threes on 41.4% shooting during the regular season and is now tallying 2.7 three-pointers per game on 42.2% shooting in the playoffs. Porter's brought that success into this series, finishing with at least a trio of threes made in Games 1 and 2. He's now hit the over on this prop in four of his past six games and is averaging 2.7 threes in his previous three road contests. Considering how the Lakers allow the eighth-most three-pointers in the NBA, I like Porter's odds of continuing his sharpshooting success.
3. Nikola Jokic – Assists: Over 10.5 (-108)
Nobody has been able to stop Nikola Jokic's elite playmaking over the last few weeks. The two-time NBA MVP has dazzled with an average of 13 assists in his last six games, hitting the over on this prop in each one. He's even finished with no fewer than 12 assists in the first two games of this series. Although the Lakers have the potential to be disruptive on defense, they're still allowing an average of 27.0 assists over their last three outings. With how important Jokic's playmaking is to the Nuggets' attack, I expect him to continue finding the open man.
