The Villanova Wildcats will travel into the city and take on the Temple Owls from the Liacouras Center on ESPNU. Temple and Villanova make up the heart of the Big 5, and they've faced off in nearly every season since 1955. Villanova holds the all-time series lead 36-29, after winning each of the last seven matchups.
Villanova opened the season with a Big 5 win over La Salle. The Wildcats hounded their inner city rivals, and kicked off the post-Jay Wright era on a good note. Kyle Neptune’s team shot an efficient 56% from the field and hit 13/20 of their threes, and they’ll look to keep things going here on the ‘road’.
With Collin Gillespie graduating, and Justin Moore still on the shelf, Caleb Daniels took the wheel in game one. The fifth-year senior came out hot, scoring a game-high 24 points, going 6/7 from deep, and grabbing ten rebounds along the way. Eric Dixon saw his workload increase in the opener as well, taking a career-high 17 shots, and hitting eight of those for the third 20-point game of his career.
