These schools are participating in a Fort Meyers Tip-Off game on Tuesday afternoon. Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Meyers, Florida will be the neutral site for Appalachian State Mountaineers (1-2; 0-2-0 ATS) and the UNC Wilmington (UNCW) Seahawks (3-0; 1-0-0 ATS). It'll be App State's first game in the Palms Division and UNCW's second. The Palms Division is a round-robin only, so no greater prize is at stake. Will UNCW punctuate their tournament with a win, or are the Mountaineers in Florida to make noise?

(Before UNCW's Monday game)

After cruising to a season-opening win, App State dropped their next two on the road. The latest was a 10-point overtime loss against Oregon State. Even with the extra five minutes, the Mountaineers only mustered 71 points. Shooting 41.3% (58.8% at the free throw line) will do that. Terence Harcum may have had a team-high 18 points, but it came on 4-14 shooting. Efficiency has been the issue all season, with the team all season. App State is 53.4% at the charity stripe, 31.5% from beyond the arc, and 42.7% from the floor overall. If it weren't for strong offensive rebounding and solid ball security, the Mountaineers would have more of a nightmare on the offensive end. Still, hitting shots has been an issue.

On the other end of the court, App State is allowing 73.7 points per game. Their past two opponents both exceeded 80 points. They limit foes to 39.6% shooting overall, which is an excellent mark. The Mountainee rs also finished +16 in rebounding after their first three battles. 5.7 blocks per game and 7.0 steals per game are other ways that the Mountaineers have competed. Opponents knocking down 76.6% of their free throws haven't helped, nor has a 33.3% three-point percentage against them. Tough teams have given them fits. Let's see if App State can bounce back.
