Toledo vs Ball State Prediction – Basketball Picks 3/3/23

The Toledo Rockets will head down to Muncie and face the Ball State Cardinals in MAC play from the Worthen Arena on ESPN3. Toledo holds a slim all-time series lead of, 52-49, but Ball State has won the last two meetings.

Toledo improved to 24-6 after defeating Central Michigan on the road. The Rockets took off on the Chippewas, outscoring them in both halves with one of their best offensive outings of the season and walking away with a massive victory. Toledo scores 75.3 points per game, while allowing 58.9 ppg, and shooting 46.8%  from the field.

Toledo has been on a roll since MLK Day, winning fourteen straight games, and they’ll look to avenge a loss to Ball State in their conference opener here. The Rockets are 15-2 in MAC play, with a 9-3 road record. Toledo is as good as advertised, and they’re led by RayJ Dennis. The junior guard has arguably been the best player in the conference this season, and after a 21-point outing in the win over CMU, he’s averaging team-leads of 19.0 ppg and 5.9 apg. The senior pairing of JT Shumate and Setric Milner Jr. compliment him well in the frontcourt. Milner went off for a season-high 32 points against the Chippewas last time out, and he leads the team in rebounding (5.8), while scoring 16.0 ppg. Shumate scored 20 points in the recent win over Akron, and he’s up to 16.7 ppg and 4.8 rpg.
