East Carolina vs Tulane Prediction – Basketball Picks 3/3/23

The East Carolina Pirates will head down to New Orleans to take on the Tulane Green Wave in AAC play from the Devlin Fieldhouse on ESPNU. ECU holds a slim series lead of, 18-16, after beating Tulane in Greenville over the weekend.

East Carolina moved to 15-14 following a home win over Tulane. The Pirates outscored the Green Wave in both halves, and they’d cruise to a 15-point win, 83-68. ECU is scoring 69.0 points per game, while allowing 70.6 ppg, and shooting 40.8% from the field.

East Carolina struck first in the home-and-home with Tulane, and after trading their last five games, they’ll look to buck that trend Friday night in the NOLA. The Pirates are 6-10 in AAC play, with a 2-7 road record. The Pirates have been without top scorer Javon Small, and RJ Felton has blossomed in his absence. The sophomore guard scored a season high 27 points against SMU last week, and he’s averaging 13.6 ppg and 4.4 rpg. Sophomore forward Brandon Johnson is scoring an identical 12.9 ppg, while grabbing a team-lead 8.2 rpg after posting a double-double against Tulane on Wednesday. Freshman forward Ezra Ausar (9.0 ppg, 4.9 rpg) double-doubled in the recent win over Cincy, and he’s scored 14 points or more in four of the last seven games.
