Texas Longhorns (18-4) vs. Kansas State Wildcats (18-4)
The 2022-23 NCAA men’s basketball schedule continues on Saturday as the Texas Longhorns take on the Kansas State Wildcats at Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan, Kansas at 4:00 p.m. ET.
This is a battle between two of the top teams in the Big 12. Texas is coming off a 76-71 victory over No. 11 Baylor on Monday while Kansas State lost to archrival Kansas on Tuesday, 90-78. The Wildcats are favored by 1.5 points in this contest with the total set at 148.5. Kansas State defeated Texas the last time these teams met, winning 116-103 on January 3. However, the visitors have won the last four meetings between these teams, including the Longhorns winning the last two times they traveled to Manhattan.
The Texas Longhorns (18-4, 9-13-0 ATS) took a narrow two-point lead into the half, extending it to five on their way to a 76-71 victory over the Baylor Bears. Texas provided a smothering defense, holding Baylor under 40% shooting in each half while hitting 47.3% of their own shots. The Longhorns were 16-23 from the free-throw line. Texas is 3-2 on the road.
Timmy Allen scored 18 points, reaching double digits for the 13th time this year and 116th in his 141st career game. Sir’Jabari Rice led the club with 21 points and added six rebounds. He took just seven shots in the game, hitting four of five three-pointers and was 7-8 from the free-throw line. The 21 points tied a single-game high for Rice .

Texas will be without guard Rowan Brumbaugh, who is out for the season. Texas is one of the best offensive teams in the nation, 27th in points per game (79.9) and 25th in field-goal percentage (48.1%). The team has been outstanding from the free-throw line as well, hitting 74.6% of their attempts. They play strong defensively, 130th in the nation (67.7).
