Tennessee at Clemson – 12/30/22 College Football Picks and Prediction

The Tennessee Volunteers and Clemson Tigers face off on Friday in the Orange Bowl at the Hard Rock Stadium. This is the first meeting played between the two teams in recent history.

Tennessee comes into this game with a 10-2 record overall and they have gone 9-3 against the spread. Tennessee seems to finally be turning the program around, and capping it off with an Orange Bowl win would go a long way for this program. In the last game, Tennessee were able to beat Vanderbilt 56-0. Joe Milton completed 11 of his 21 passes for 147 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions. Jaylen Wright had five catches for 160 yards and two touchdowns. Jeremy Banks has opted out to get ready for the NFL and he’s not going to be able to go in this game. Wide receiver Cedric Tillman has also opted out and won’t be a weapon for Milton in this game.

On the other side of this matchup is Clemson Tigers who sit with an 11-2 record overall and they have gone 7-6 against the spread. Clemson hasn’t been as dominant as in seasons past, but they are coming off quite the win in the last game. Cade Klubnik didn’t start the game, but he was the difference-maker in the game. He completed 20 of his 24 passes for 279 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions. Klubnik hasn’t always been the starter this season but there has to be some questions about what this team would have been able to accomplish if he would have started all the season. Clemson is averaging 34.7 points while their defense is giving up 20.1 points per game.
