Maryland at NC State – 12/30/22 College Football Picks and Prediction

The Maryland Terrapins and NC State Wolfpack face off on Friday at the Duke’s Mayo Bowl at the Bank of America Stadium. 

Maryland comes into this game with a 7-5 record and they have gone 6-6 against the spread. Maryland’s last game came against Rutgers and they were able to secure a 37-0 victory in that game. Taulia Tagovailoa completed 25 of his 37 passes for 342 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions. Jeshaun Jones caught nine passes for 152 yards and one touchdown. Jacob Copeland has announced that he has opted out to get ready for the NFL draft, and he won’t be playing in this game. Maryland is averaging 29.2 points while their defense is giving up 24.1 points per game. Tagovailoa on the season has thrown for 2,787 yards, 17 touchdowns, and six interceptions. 

On the other side of this matchup is NC State who sits with an 8-4 record and they have gone 4-8 against the spread. In the last game against North Carolina, it took overtime, but they were able to secure the 30-27 victory. Ben Finley completed 27 of his 40 passes for 271 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Quarterback MJ Morris is also healthy heading into this game and could get the start. There hasn’t been a starter announced yet, but both guys could split reps. NC State is averaging 25.3 points while their defense is giving up 19.4 points per game.
