Once Upon A Time In Las Vegas – Super Bowl

The Temple Owls (14-11, 14-10-1 ATS, 12-12 O/U) battle the Memphis Tigers (18-6, 10-13-1 ATS, 15-9 O/U) in an AAC showdown on Sunday afternoon. The Owls were hit with a road loss by SMU on Wednesday night. The Tigers clobbered USF in their previous action. Memphis posted a 60-59 road win against Temple in the first meeting.

The Temple Owls are looking to avoid a third consecutive loss. Temple had recently won four games in a row including a remarkable upset win against #1 Houston and a road win against UCF. They were dealt a home loss against Houston in the rematch last week and were two-point favorites in a 72-71 road loss to SMU on Wednesday to dip to 8-4 in AAC play. The Owls have covered the spread in only one out of their last four games.

Khalif Battle is in the zone, sinking at least 24 points in four straight games. The sophomore guard has shot 50% in each game in that span and is sporting an average of 18.4 PPG on the season. Damian Dunn is slumping, shooting below 38% in six consecutive games. The sophomore guard is now averaging 14.5 PPG on a 42% mark from the field. Jamille Reynolds has been sharp, collecting at least nine points in three straight games. The sophomore forward has filed an average of 10.7 PP G on 61% shooting.

The Owls are ranked 114th in DI in Ken Pomeroy’s ratings and are a stellar 5-3 on the road this season including wins against USF and Tulsa. Temple has eclipsed 70 points in three of their last four games and is posting an average of 69.3 points, landing them 238th. They are playing marvelous defense and are conceding an average of 68.8 points, placing them 162nd.
