The Tampa Bay Lightning (40-22-6, 86 points, 3rd Atlantic) play their second consecutive game on the road against the New Jersey Devils (44-17-6, 94 points, 2nd Metro) Thursday after facing off and defeating the Devils 4-1 on the road Tuesday. Tampa Bay's victory over New Jersey on Tuesday was its second win in the last three and the Lightning currently hold the third and final automatic qualifying berth in the Atlantic division, a comfortable 13 points ahead of fourth place Florida. New Jersey's loss on Tuesday to the Lightning snapped a three-game winning streak for the Devils. New Jersey is second in the Metropolitan Division only two points behind first place Carolina. Brent Seabrook is out for Tampa Bay while Steven Stamkos is questionable. Jonatha n Bernier and Mackenzie Blackwood are out for New Jersey, while Nathan Bastian and Miles Wood are questionable.

The Tampa Bay Lightning are scoring an average of 3.46 goals per game which is seventh best in the NHL, but the Lightning are allowing an average of 3.02 goals per game which is 15th. Tampa Bay is averaging 32.2 shots per game which is 13th while allowing an average of 31.3 shots per game which is 17th. Tampa Bay's power play is second best in the NHL, scoring 25.6% of the time with the man advantage, while the penalty kill unit is 14th, successfully holding opponents scoreless 79.7% of the time the Lightning are short-handed. 

 

Brayden Point is the leading goal scorer for Tampa Bay with 43, while Nikita Kucherov and Steven Stamkos (questionable) have each scored 27. Kucherov is the leader in assists with 69 and the points leader with 96. Mikhail Sergachev is second in assists with 42. Tampa Bay has scored 60 goa ls on the power play in 68 games. Andrei Vasilevskiy is 30-17-4 with a 2.67 goals against average, .914 save percentage and two shutouts. Vasilevskiy was in goal Tuesday night when the Lightning defeated the Devils.
