The Southern Miss Golden Eagles will travel to Malone Stadium on Saturday evening in a Sun Belt Conference matchup to take on the UL Monroe Warhawks. The Golden Eagles are 5-6 (3-4) this season and are riding a three-game losing streak after coming off a 27-20 home loss against the South Alabama Jaguars last Saturday. The Warhawks are currently 4-7 (3-4) so far and are coming off a 34-16 road loss on Saturday to the Troy Trojans. 

The Southern Miss Golden Eagles are a decent offensive team as they are scoring 24.6 points while averaging 321.1 total yards per game. They have been depending on senior wide receiver Jason Brownlee as he has 51 receptions for 796 yards (15.6 yards per catch) with seven touchdown receptions this far to be a tough matchup against anybody. They have freshman quarterback Zach Wilke trying to step up as he is completing 57.4 percent of all his passes for 1,163 yards with nine touchdowns and interceptions. 

The defense has been allowing 24.7 points on 380.1 total yards per game up to this point. They have been struggling a bit to stop the running game as teams are running for 142.2 yards per game against them. Southern Miss is applying a lot of pressure with 35 total sacks and recording 16 interceptions as well as four fumble recoveries to make things tough on their opponent.

The Golden Eagles are coming off a 27-20 home loss against the South Alabama Jaguars. The Jaguars were 5-of-14 on third down attempts as well as 2-of-4 on fourth down tries.
