The 10th-seeded USC Trojans (22-10, 14-6 Pac-12) and seventh-seeded Michigan State Spartans (19-12, 11-8 Big Ten) will be trying to advance to the next round when they meet in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Friday afternoon. The Trojans are coming off a 77-72 loss to Arizona State as four-point favorites. The Spartans are coming off a 68-58 loss to Ohio State as six-point favorites.

Michigan State won the only meeting between the two teams in 2009.

The Trojans followed up their win over Arizona State with a loss to the Sun Devils in the Pac-12 tournament. They will try to bounce back from the loss with a win over the Spartans, which will give them their sixth win in their last eight games.

USC is averaging 72.8 points per game. They scored 72 points in their last game, making 41.8 percent of their field goals and 38.1 percent of their three-pointers.

Tre White led the Trojans with 16 points and five rebounds. Reese Dixon-Waters finished with 16 points and five rebounds, while Kobe Johnson added 15 points and eight rebounds.

USC has played well defensively, giving up 67.3 points per game. They gave up 77 points in their last game and will have to do a better job if they want to win this game.
