The Wichita State Shockers will host the SMU Mustangs in AAC action from the Charles Koch Arena on ESPN2. Wichita State leads the head-to-head, 10-6, after winning the last six games.
SMU moved to 9-16 after defeating Temple in Dallas. The Mustangs and the Owls traded leads for 40 minutes, and the host would sneak away with a one-point victory. SMU is scoring 69.4 points per game, while allowing 74.1 ppg, and shooting 41.8% from the floor.
SMU will look to continue to play spoiler down the stretch with postseason play out of the question. The Mustangs are 4-8 in AAC play, with a 1-7 record on the road. Sophomore guard Zhuric Phelps scored 19 points in the win over Temple to bring his team-lead to 17.2 ppg. Fifth-year senior Zach Nutall scored 17 points in the first matchup with Wichita last month. Transfer forwards Efe Odigie (10.6 ppg, 7.1 rpg) and Samuell Williamson (8.2 ppg, 7.3 rpg) man the frontcourt for SMU.
