Seton Hall at Villanova Prediction – Basketball Picks 2/11/23

The Seton Hall Pirates will head up to Philadelphia and face the Villanova Wildcats in Big East play from the Wells Fargo Center on FS1. Villanova and Seton Hall have faced off 110 times, and the Wildcats hold an all-time series lead of, 73-37.

Seton Hall fell to 15-10 after falling to Creighton in Newark. The Pirates failed to keep up with the Bluejays after the break, and they’d fall by 13 points. Seton Hall is scoring 71.6 points per game, while shooting 43.1% from the floor, and 32.1% from deep.

Seton Hall will look to avoid an untimely skid with the conference tournament right around the corner. The Pirates are 8-6 in Big East play, with a 5-4 road record. Clemson transfer and hometown product Al-Amir Dawes is the Pirates best scoring threat, and after scoring a game-high 21 points in the win over St. John’s last week, he’s up to a team-lead 12.3 ppg. Former Syracuse guard Kadary Richmond double-doubled in wins over SJU and UConn, and he’s posting a nice line of 10.3 ppg, 5.5 rpg, and a team-lead 4.1 apg. Senior forwards Tyrese Samuel (10.4 ppg, 5.6 rpg) and KC Ndefo (7.8 ppg, 5.1 rpg) start up front for the Pirates. It’s been a collective effort so far, with first-year head coach Shaheen Holloway shifting the lineup often early on. Clemson transfer Al-Amir Dawes leads SHU in scoring (11.1), and he scored 22 points in the win over St. John’s. Senior forward Tyrese Samuel leads the Pirates in boards at 6.4 rpg, while scoring 11.2 ppg.
