In 2022, the Mariners reached the postseason for the first time since 2001 and were able to win their opening series on Wildcard Weekend against the Blue Jays. George Kirby makes his second start of the season for the Mariners. Kirby was roughed up by the Angels in his first start, allowing four runs on nine hits in just 4.1 innings of work. On the road in 2022, Kirby made 12 starts on the road last year and went 5-2 with a 3.52 ERA in his rookie season. Kirby faced the Guardians once last year, allowing three hits and one run in just three innings of work.
