After winning five out of six games, the Orlando Magic have closed with a rough patch by losing three straight games. Still, 2022-23 has to be deemed a success by the Magic organization as the team has improved from 22 wins to at least 34 as they get set to take on Miami in the season finale. The Magic's young roster has gained more experience and the #1 pick in last year's NBA Draft, Paolo Banchero, is the favorite for Rookie of the Year honors. On Friday night, Banchero sat out as the Magic fell to Brooklyn 101-84. Cole Anthony led the way with 14 points to go along with nine rebounds and six assists for Orlando.

The Magic will head to the offseason with optimism after the play of Banchero and some of the other young players on the roster. With one of the youngest rosters in the league already, Orlando may decide to use their draft position to pick up a veteran player to help the roster next season. In the team's last three losses, Orlando has averaged just 97 points after sitting out several key pieces over the last two games. Keep an eye on their probables as game time nears.
