A pair of Pac-12 foes do battle looking to record a conference win as they tangle in the Rocky Mountains. The Oregon State Beavers are on the road as they make the trip to take on the Colorado Buffaloes Saturday night. Oregon State was on the road against Utah Thursday night and was pasted 74-47, failing to cover the line as a 14.5-point underdog. Colorado hosted Oregon in their previous contest Thursday night, earning an 86-70 win and covering the six-point line in the contest. In the all-time series between the programs, the Buffaloes own a 19-11 advantage but it was the Beavers picking up a 60-52 home triumph in the most recent meeting on January 28, 2023.

Oregon State was on the road against Utah Thursday night and was pounded to suffer their fourth straight loss. The Beavers fell to 9-8 overall and sit in the basement of the Pac-12 with a 1-5 mark in conference play this season. Against Utah, Oregon State led by four with 10:49 to play in the first half but went ice cold after that. The Beavers were outscored 18-3 the rest of the half to trail by 11 and gave up a 10-0 run to start the second half, leaving them down 43-22. Oregon State never made a push from there as they went down in defeat. The Beavers shot only 29.1% from the floor, including seven of 23 from three-point range, and were destroyed 52-31 on the glass in the game. Dexter Akanno led the Beavers with 12 points off the bench in the loss.

The Beavers are putting up an average of 70.4 points per game this season, putting them 276th in the nation in scoring offense. Oregon State is weak on the glass, collecting an average of 34.2 rebounds per contest, and dishes out 11.4 assists per game. The Beavers are 158th in scoring defense by allowing 70.9 points a game. Jordan Pope leads the team and is one of three players averaging in double figures with 17.4 points per game. Tyler Bilodeau (12.4 points, 5.6 rebounds) and Dexter Akanno (12.2 points) are solid secondary scoring options. KC Ibekwe, Michael Rataj, Christian Wright, Josiah Lake II, DaJohn Craig, Chol Marial, Justin Rochelin and Thomas Ndong are other rotation components for coach Wayne Tinkle. Oregon State shoots 43.8% from the floor as a team on the year. The Beavers connect on 6.3 three-pointers a night while shooting 32.8% from beyond the arc. Oregon State has been excellent at the charity stripe as they cash in a s olid 74.6% of their chances on the year.
