Ole Miss vs. Georgia Tech Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 9-17-2022

It's a battle between the SEC and ACC as Georgia Tech hosts Mississippi on Saturday. The 20th ranked Ole Miss Rebels are 2-0 on the season while the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are 1-1 on the season. These two teams haven't squared off since 2013 when Mississippi won 25-17. Ole Miss is favored by 16.5 points in this one.

The 20th ranked Mississippi Rebels are off to a 2-10 start this season. The Rebels are coming off 59-3 win over Central Arkansas last weekend. They have played a couple of cupcakes so far, beating Troy 28-10 in the first week. Troy is not really a cupcake, but they are not a power conference team and Mississippi played at home. This Georgia Tech game will be the first real test for the Rebels this season. The Rebels completely dominated Central Arkansas, a team they were 35.5 point favorites against. Mississippi rolled up 502 yards against the overmatched Central Arkansas team and only gave up 257 yards.

Quarterback Jaxson Dart was 10 for 15 for 182 yards and 2 touchdowns with 0 interceptions. Luke Altmyer, who got the start, went 6 for 13 for 90 yards and two touchdowns with one interception, but he left with an injury. Quinshon Judkins had himself a day rushing for 104 yards while Zach Evans had 53 yards and a touchdown. Ulysses Bentley and Altmyer also scored rushing touchdowns. Jonathan Mingo caught 3 passes for 103 yards, while Malik Heath had 3 catches for 52 yards and a touchdown. Michael Trigg had a nice game with 5 catches for 28 yards and three touchdowns. The defense turned Central Arkansas over 3 times with two interceptions and a fumble recovery.

Ole Miss is still figuring out its quarterback situation as Dart started game one and Altmyer started game 2. There have been no decision yet who will start against Georgia tech so keep an eye on that.
