The defending national champs have looked just as great as they did last season, and they are clearly out to prove that it was no fluke. Week 1 provided us a glimpse of how dominant this team is, whipping an extremely talented Oregon Ducks team, 49-3, and following that up with a blowout win over Samford.
Even with all of the losses this past offseason, with a huge portion of the roster moving on to the NFL or other ventures, the Bulldogs have remained just as steadfast in their goal of repeating as national champions with a new group of talent. QB Stetson Bennett remains, and so far he's out to prove that he is not just the “game manager” type of signal-caller who relies on the talent around him to get wins. He has been making plays, making the right decisions with the football, and he's looked the part of a quarterback in total command of his offense and the game.
An interesting note to add here, head coach Kirby Smart is 18-5 ATS off a home win by 17 points or more while coaching Georgia, so that is just something else to keep in mind for this one.
